A minibus trip to Ras Mohammed Marine National Reserve from Sharm El Sheikh: a 30-minute drive, stops at the Gates of Allah, swimming stops in the bay, the mangrove groove and the salt Lake of Desires.
Book your spot for $20 per adult, $15 per child. Reserve now, pay later.
Two things. First, price – the minibus is the cheapest way into the park. Second, access: you enter the sea from the coast rather than from a boat deck, and you can walk the mangrove channel and the salt Lake of Desires. That combination makes it the most practical option for families with young children, and for anyone who finds stepping off a yacht into deep water difficult.
We run several different trips to Ras Mohamed, and they are genuinely different days rather than variations on one tour:
The Gates of Allah are the rock formations at the park entrance, and they are the first stop. From there the minibus moves along the coast to the swimming spots, the mangrove channel and the salt Lake of Desires, which turns pink in the right light. Because you are on land between stops, you see the desert meeting the sea rather than only the water.
Families with young children, older guests, and anyone who is not confident in deep water. Entering the sea from the shore means you can wade in to your depth and stop whenever you like, with no ladder to climb or boat to step off. It is also the lowest-cost way to see the park.
Leave Sharm El Sheikh by minibus; 30 minutes to the reserve.
Stop at the Gates of Allah and two swimming stops in the bay.
Visit the mangrove groove, the earth crust break and swim in the salt 'Lake of Desires'.
Back to the hotel around 2:00 pm.
Bring your own or rent masks, fins and life jackets on site.
Yes - you enter the sea from the coast, so there's no diving from a yacht.
