This is boat hire rather than a seat on someone else’s trip. You get the vessel, the captain and the crew for the day, and you decide where it goes within the Tiran area.

That flexibility is the point. If the reef you wanted is crowded, you move. If the group is enjoying a stop, you stay longer. If someone wants to sit out a snorkel, nobody is waiting on them.

How the day runs

You are collected from your hotel and taken to the marina in the morning. The captain will talk through the options for the day before you leave — usually three snorkel or swim stops along the Tiran reefs, with lunch cooked or served on board and unlimited soft drinks. From there the itinerary is yours to adjust.

Who it suits

Families with mixed ages, groups of friends, and anyone who would rather not share a boat. Having your own crew means the pace is set by your group, and it works well if you have children or older guests who need a slower schedule.

Comparing the three Tiran trips

If you are deciding between them: the shared snorkelling cruise is the cheapest and the most sociable. The speed boat is the fastest and best for a small group with limited time. This private boat day is for groups who want the boat to themselves and a schedule they control.

Planning your day

Mornings are calmer, so if you have the choice, go early and get in the water before the wind builds in the afternoon. Tell the captain if anyone in your group is a nervous swimmer; he will choose the stops with that in mind. If the group would rather slow down, you can ask to shorten the snorkelling and add a longer lunch break or a beach stop instead.

Because the boat is yours, there is no fixed schedule to keep. That is the main difference between this and our other two Tiran trips, and it is worth using.

Most private charters run from mid-morning until late afternoon. If you have a particular departure time in mind, tell us when you book and we will arrange the transfers around it.
