About this tour

Overview

This trip is built for people who have never dived. You start with a training session from a qualified instructor, then go down for one or two dives at Ras Mohamed with two snorkelling stops in between. No licence or prior experience is needed – the instructor trains you before you get in.

How the day runs

Pickup is at 9:00 am from your hotel. On the boat you are fitted with equipment and briefed on the basics: how to breathe, how to clear your ears, and the hand signals you will use. The instructor stays with you in the water throughout – you are not left to dive independently at any point.

The boat moves between sites during the day, with a lunch break and soft drinks on board. You are back at your hotel around 4:30 pm.

Who it suits

Complete beginners, and anyone who has snorkelled and wants to know what diving is like before committing to a certification course. If you are already certified, the snorkel and diving day covers multiple dives and a night dive option.

Know before you go

What you will see underwater

Ras Mohamed is a protected marine park, which is why the coral here has more colour and structure than at sites closer to the resorts. Expect hard and soft corals, anthias and other reef fish in numbers, and a reasonable chance of a napoleon wrasse or a turtle. Your instructor will point things out as you go rather than leaving you to spot them yourself.
